(KRON) -- Recent layoffs at eBay and Netflix are set to impact over 450 workers in the Bay Area, according to state filings with California's Employment Development Department.
Reports emerged Wednesday that San Jose-based eBay would cut 1,000 jobs companywide.
A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed with the EDD indicates that 229 of those job cuts are tied to eBay's headquarters at 2025 Hamilton Ave. in San Jose. The eBay job cuts were announced Wednesday and took effect immediately, the notice indicates.

Last week, Netflix announced its biggest round of job cuts since 2022. The Los Gatos-based streaming giant said it would be cutting 6% of its workforce, around 1,000 jobs.
Of those 1,000 job cuts, 227 of them are connected to the company's headquarters on Albright Way in Los Gatos. Although the Netflix layoffs weren't officially announced until Oct. 16, the WARN notice indicates they took effect back in September.
Netflix laid off an additional 267 people in Los Angeles.
The job cuts at both companies, according to the WARN notice, are permanent.
